About Me

My name is Lori-Ann Zemanovich. I am a mother of an autistic child named Pietro Cammalleri who is an extraordinary young man striving everyday to embrace life and overcome his challenges. Despite his amazing accomplishments, his special needs are such that I am needed to oversee his multi-faceted care full-time. I have been doing so all his life and had to abandon my career many years ago accordingly. I have no complaints in that regard since I find myself not only apt at the task but happily enriched by it. Beyond my caregiving role in my son’s life, I am also an autism advocate, a certified Autism Support worker, a caregiving volunteer for Summit school, a companion caregiver for my communities elderly and the IRGLM rehabilitation hospital.
Given my experience, my previous carreer and educational skills and, most importantly, my resolved inclination, I have begun to pursue an ambitious endeavor. It is my hope to create a non-profit organization whose sole purpose will be to fund and service a community home for Intellectually handicapped adults. My son will never achieve full independence and will always require my love and guardianship. Additionally I am inclined and capable of directing a community residence that would welcome and care for a number of needy adults similar to my son. By opening and directing my own group-home, I am providing a permanent residence for my son, I am offering him placement in a home where he will find care, comradery and purpose in life and most importantly of all, I will be providing a much needed living environment for a beautiful part of our populace who are sorely needing care, encouragement, security and a sense of comfort and belonging.
